Larder beetle, Carpet beetle, Wood louse

Larder beetle Adult larder beetle has the length of 7-9 mm, as the adult larvae are in the lengths of 11-13 mm. the body of the larva is covered with yellowish small body hair.

They have long hair bundle at the end of their bodies. They live under peels generally in winter.  In May and June, they fly and leave their legs around the warehouses. The larvae come out from the eggs in 10-15 days will use the foods around as feed.

They prepare places for pupa by drilling holes inside the food, even wood or lead. It takes 40-50 days for conversion from egg laying to adult phase at 18-20°C. they reproduce 1-5 times per annum.

The adult larder beetle live for one year. These larvae prefer cheese, meat and salami. However, Dermestes maculatus types may cause significant damages to the leather and fur warehouses.

Carpet beetle

Adult carpet beetle is in the length of 3-5 mm, as the adult larva is in the length of 7-8 mm.

Their body is covered with stiff and dark brown hairs. The eggs shall open in 6 to 11 days. The adults live for 35-40 days. The larva period changes from 260 days to 640 days depending on food availability.

Larvae will use wool, silk, and garments made of them, fur, leather, hair, feather, dead bugs, books and milk powder as feed. They are largely seen in the warehouses containing such types of items and foods.

Woodlouse

They live in humid environments under peels, and may take the form of a sphere. Its length is around  cm. they live in anywhere being wet and containing vegetable wastes, they like basements and cellars. They cause harm to pot plants.
