Its body measures 7-10 mm. The upper section of the adult one is covered with silver colored flakes. The broods come out from the eggs new are white colored. A female lays around 100 legs, the lifecycle is completed in one year, the adults live for 2 to 3 years.

They are frequently seen in floor factories and warehouses, libraries, houses and paper warehouses. They like wet, hot and dark places, they eat sugary, floury materials, paper and paper products. They also eat cotton, nylon, book skins, wall papers, starch materials. Pesticide should be applied in particular on the shelves, back sides of the cabinets, water pipes, closets, doors and windows, and the rooms containing paper materials.
